Initial Requirement:

Refah chain stores in Isfahan, Yazd, and Shiraz were facing numerous issues with their refrigeration systems.

The existing water-cooled chillers and air handling units in the branches were practically out of operation due to high wear, excessive water consumption, frequent breakdowns, and high maintenance costs, making it impossible to provide uniform cooling in the large retail spaces.

The client sought a system that, while offering high capacity and energy efficiency, could ensure reliable performance during long operating hours and varying thermal loads of the stores.

Solution:

Our technical team, after thoroughly analyzing the operational conditions, supplied three 250-ton air-cooled screw chillers along with air handling units appropriately sized for each site’s cooling capacity.

The new chillers, featuring industrial design and high-efficiency screw compressors, are capable of continuous and reliable operation under diverse climatic conditions (from the dry heat of Yazd to the high humidity of Shiraz).

Simultaneously with replacing the main equipment, the air duct network was completely redesigned. The new layout and duct sizing were planned to ensure uniform distribution of cold air throughout the stores and to eliminate noticeable temperature differences between different areas.

To reduce future maintenance costs, the system’s filters and consumable components were selected for easy access, high durability, and low maintenance requirements.

Result:

With the completion of this project, the Refah stores in Isfahan, Yazd, and Shiraz now benefit from a reliable, efficient, and economical cooling system.

The new screw chillers provide stable, uninterrupted performance throughout working hours, completely resolving the previous issues of frequent breakdowns and temperature fluctuations.

The redesigned duct paths ensure that comfortable air with uniform flow and temperature is distributed throughout the store, fully meeting the thermal comfort requirements of both customers and staff.

This project stands as a successful example of engineering redesign and optimized replacement of ventilation and cooling equipment in large-scale commercial spaces.
